Albayyara Cultural Society-Abu
Dhabi was formed under the sponsorship of the
Palestinian Embassy in 2002 with young members, both men
and women, as volunteers. These members hold Palestine
in their hearts as a symbol of right, freedom and peace,
and they have common objectives, the first of which is
permanent continuity with the sacred Palestinian cause
as an identity, history and heritage through the
integration of the Palestinian people inside and outside
the homeland. The Committee aims at being a bridge
between the Palestinian community members and other Arab
communities residing in the UAE so that Palestine will
always be remembered on all occasions and events, and so
that its bright picture will be inscribed in the minds
of generations to come. They want to send a clear
message to the whole world that these generations will
bear the trust until their dream comes true of
establishing an Independent Palestinian State with
Jerusalem as its capital and the return of the last
refugee to his land and home.
Over the past five years, the committee has managed to
ensure the continuity of its viability and activities. It
holds regular weekly meetings and at the same time has
adopted some recurrent institutional activities that serve
its purpose, as well as other miscellaneous activities for
different occasions. Therefore the committee has succeeded
in proving itself as an with the quality of its work,
becoming complementary to other committees and authorities
concerned with looking after the interests of the
Palestinian Community in the UAE. Some of these committees
were active in the past, but are no longer, and others are
still working and active today.
The Committee has been concerned with achieving a group of
main objectives, most important of which is the support for
the steadfastness of the Palestinian people inside their
homeland and providing all possible aid for Palestinians
wherever they are. For this purpose, the Committee has
organized many events which have generated financial
resources needed for supporting the Palestinian people
inside Palestine and needy families abroad. One such
activity was its participation in the organization and
financing of "tree planting" inside Palestine.
The Committee has also ensured ongoing communications with
our Palestinian people inside Palestine and in the Diaspora.
It hosted many important figures and groups from Palestine
in events organized for increasing solidarity with the
Palestinian people and in other cultural, media and athletic
events. These events had a dual objective: first, it was a
reaffirmation of Palestinian unity against persecution and
exile, and second, it served to vitalize cultural and
educational activities for the new Palestinian generations
and all UAE citizens and foreign communities in the UAE in
order to shed light on the suffering of our people and to
pursue our legitimate national rights.
